It’s time for annual mandatory HIPAA training required by California’s Department of
Health Care Services (DHCS) and the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), to ensure providers and delegated entities are meeting the requirements to protect sensitive patient data.
Here are the steps you need to take:
- Review training materials
- Complete the digital attestation or acknowledge you have taken part in a HIPAA training –provided by HPSJ or another organization
NOTE: An Office Manager, Medical Director, or other authorized Administrator may complete the training attestation on behalf of each provider in your organization. HIPAA is a federal law that required the creation of national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient’s consent or knowledge.
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) issued the HIPAA Privacy Rule to implement the requirements of HIPAA. If you have questions, please contact the Customer Services team at 1.888.936.PLAN (7526).
